Redesigning Ahmedabad’s 30-year-old Crossword bookstore was deeply personal, as it is the very place our own love for reading began. Crafted predominantly in light wooden materials, the design breaks retail norms to actively celebrate natural light. A glowing arrangement of rice paper lamps visually connects the circulation between the ground and first floors, creating a warm, inviting journey. We carved out intimate window seats overlooking the city’s tree canopy for peaceful reading, and integrated a cozy, stepped nook where a new generation of children can discover the magic of books.
